Department of Hotel Management offers B.Sc (Hotel Management and Catering Sciences) and One year Certificate course in Food Production. We are proud to say that Madurai Kamaraj University was the first to introduce such a department in the entire state of TamilNadu. The wards of the department get professional training for a placement in Star Category Hotels Globally. The Department regularly conducts Seminars and Workshops. They are “One Day Work shop on Bartending, Vegitable Carving, Flower Arrangements, Sweets and Savouries, Canning and Preservation and Indian Chats. They have organised a one day seminar on Personality Development and Self Confidence Building. They are regularly placing their wards through Campus Placement Programs and the wards are even taking up part-time positions on the near-by Star Category Hotels. The Students of this department regularly participate in World Tourism Day Celebrations that are conducted on 27 September every year.
